TUGADE: ZAMBOANGA AIRPORT TO EXPAND FLIGHT ROUTES IN SOUTHEAST ASIA
ZAMBOANGA CITY – After getting a major face lift with the completion of its development projects, a revitalized and upgraded Zamboanga International Airport (ZIA) will soon expand its flight routes to and from Southeast Asian destinations, Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade revealed here. Tugade approved the flight expansion on the occasion of the inauguration Tuesday of Php74.6-million upgrade terminal upgrade which could now accommodate 500 to 800 outgoing passengers. “The expansion of flight is to give depth and meaning of this airport development,” Tugade told newsmen here. Tugade approved the flight expansion on the spot after the meeting between the Philippine Air Line (PAL) executives, Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), Department of Tourism and the local governments finalized the mechanics for the route operation.
