Anti-terror troops seize 375 kilos of explosive chemical in Zamboanga City

ZAMBOANGA CITY - - Alerted military anti-terror unit and intelligence agents foiled anew bombing plot after they intercepted and seized huge haul of chemical explosive in a checkpoint in this southern port city.

The capture of the chemical explosive continues to bolster the military suspicions of terror plot to conduct bombings.

The 375 kilos of ammonium nitrate, a prime ingredient in bomb making, was intercepted by the anti-terror unit of Task Force Zamboanga (TFZ) and elements of the Military Intelligence Company (MICO) in a checkpoint set up in Barangay Rio Hondo about 5:45a.m Tuesday.

The explosive material contained in fifteen sacks of 25 kilos each, load in a Tamaraw jeep was detected after the cargo handler was found to be carrying a .45 caliber pistol. -# - (Mybreak)
